warm hearted people who entertained
us most handsomely all the time we
were there, when we parted from them
to return to our sphere here it was with
regret. It was their kindness to us that
made our visit to Auckland the green
spot that is in our memory. And
green it is, beyond all doubt, literally
as well as figuratively. The first day
I was ashore I was so much struck
with the greeness of a little grassy
plot I saw, + so vividly reminded
by it of other green spots far away
that I cd scarcely keep back the
tears that came rushing into me
eyes.
